Monte Rio Beach

Spend the day on the largest public beach on the lower Russian River. This ADA accessible beach is known by the locals as Big Rocky Beach. Here you can rent a canoe, paddle board or kayak.
This beach has slow flow areas for beginners, but also offers some more challenging flows a bit further down river. Many kayakers choose this spot to put in for a beautiful trip to the Jenner estuary where the river meets the sea.
Their food concession stand offers cold drinks, ice cream and lunch items. Volleyball courts and horseshoe pits are free to use.
This beach is open to the public Memorial Day weekend through the last weekend in September.
