Sonoma Valley Museum of Art has intimate galleries, a 1500-volume art library, an art studio, workshops and events year-round.

Recent exhibitions have included Cenote de Sueños: The Art of Juana Alicia: While Juana Alicia is best known for her work as a muralist throughout the Bay Area and in Mexico, this exhibition presents Juana Alicia’s most recent illustration project, La X’tabay: The Book of Books (2024), a collaboration with author Tirso González Araiza. Juana Alicia’s two works in the form of codexes reflect the artist’s mastery while also capturing elements of Latin American literary movements found throughout her larger body of work. Cenote de Sueños will feature paintings that address women’s creative power in addressing issues of social justice. Through Jan. 5.

Sonoma Valley Museum of Art is located one half block from Sonoma’s historic Town Plaza. Free 3-hour street parking within close walking distance of the Museum. Open Wed-Sun 11am-5pm. Admission is FREE every Wednesday.
