Drawing on her experiences and her musical roots, she began to craft blues, folk, and gospel-tinged songs that spoke to the universal themes of love, loss, and resilience.
Singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Ruth Gerson has performed on the Craig Ferguson and Conan O’Brien late night tv shows and was a featured performer at the Newport Folk Festival, New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, High Sierra Music Festival, ARTSCAPE, CMJ, and SXSW. Opening act is The Turnarounds (former members of The Graystones), a band of middle school students whose videos on the internet have gone viral.

Blending acoustic and electric performances, the night celebrates the sounds and influences that shaped these local artists. They’ll be joined by former Modern Hicks vocalist and songwriter Gina Blaber, drummer Dan Ransford, and bassist Tim Sarter for a dynamic mix of original songs and select covers from beloved Americana and roots-rock artists.
