Now in its 18th year, Film Fest Petaluma is a day-long showcase of animated and live action short films with filmmakers in conversation. Programs will take place at 12, 3, 7, & 9:45. A discounted all-day pass is available for $50. A complete line-up of shorts will be available at FilmFestPetaluma.com in early April.
The festival has its origin as a celebration of the start of the Salmon fishing season and the annual Blessing of the Fleet. Each year’s theme is chosen by the Bodega Bay Fisherman’s Marketing Association. At the Festival site itself, you’ll see a wooden boat challenge where participating teams build a vessel and compete in a boat race.
Petaluma’s Salute to American Graffiti celebrates our city’s starring role in movie history. Filmed in 1972, director George Lucas used Petaluma streets for many of the iconic movie’s most memorable scenes.
