Laguna Wetlands Preserve in Laguna de Santa Rosa is the largest freshwater marsh in Northern California. The oak woodland and vernal pool complex surrounding the wetlands of the Laguna ecosystem once provided food to antelope, elk and deer herds. Shop, Dine or Stay at Historic Railroad Square

In Old Town Santa Rosa, restored turn-of-the-century buildings are filled with specialty shops, antique stores, fantastic restaurants and elegant hotels. This area is known as Railroad Square and was developed in the 1880s when the first trains arrived in Santa Rosa. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. The 1904 train depot has been restored and is home to the California Welcome Center as well as the Santa Rosa Convention and Visitors Bureau.
