Sonoma Valley Museum of Art has intimate galleries, a 2500-volume art library, an art studio, workshops and events year-round. Recent exhibitions have included An Eye for Adventure: Photographs by Jack London; and Libros de Artista: Artist’s Books from Mexico and the Mexican Diaspora.

Through August 28 see the exhibit: Seen & Unseen: Photographs by Imogen Cunningham. Also through August 28: Dancing with Charlie: Bay Area Art from the Campbell Collection. September 18 see The Sanctuary City Project. Artists Sergio De La Torre and Chris Treggiari present their ongoing public engagement project within the museum and out in the community. September 10 through January 8 see Raymond Saunders: On Freedom and Trust. This exhibition’s 20-25 stunning large mixed-media paintings by Raymond Saunders represent his vast career of works that often reuse many motifs and repurpose commercial and cultural signs to create multiple perspectives and meanings.

Sonoma Valley Museum of Art is located one half block from Sonoma’s historic Town Plaza. Free 3-hour street parking is available within close walking distance of the Museum. Open Wed-Sun 11am-5pm.
