Taste Wine at Sonoma Coast Vineyards
Their passion for the Pacific Ocean and Pinot Noir wine led John and Barbara Drady to the Sonoma Coast when they founded Sonoma Coast Vineyards (SCV) in 2001. With two combined decades of wine industry experience, they realized the challenge of growing grapes on the coast. They enlisted master winemaker Anthony Austin, who brought his vast knowledge, incredible artistry and experience to SCV’s mission of producing exceptional wines from the Sonoma Coast appellation.
Their unique growing region, in the town of Freestone, is just five miles from the cold coastal climate. Its frequently fog-shrouded fields are ideal for growing the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes.
SCV’S tasting room is located right off Coastal Highway 1 in Bodega Bay, overlooking the bay. Walk-in tastings are available every day from 10:30 am to 6 pm (hours may change by the season so check their website or give them a call). Their low production Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays are well worth the visit, and the spectacular views are the pièce de résistance. Add a great local cheese plate to any tasting flight for only $12.
For the ultimate Sonoma Coast wine tasting experience, reserve a private tasting in the Wines on the Edge Club Room. Private tasting is available by appointment at 11:00am, 1:00pm and 3:00pm. Maximum 8 guests per tasting, and only $25 per person.
SCV also offers the “Sonoma Coast Food and Wine Experience”, a more intimate, educational experience featuring tapas-style food and wine in their Wine’s on the Edge Club Room. Hosted by one of their hospitality professionals, you will taste through five wines, each perfectly paired with locally sourced small plates. The menu is seasonal and subject to change. Vegetarian option available upon request. This tasting typically lasts 60-75 minutes.
Open Thur – Mon, 11am-5pm.
