A performance by Tom Rigney and Flambeau is a high-energy, deeply engaging journey through the heart of American Roots Music, led by one of its most distinctive violin voices.
Since they formed in 2005 in San Francisco after their displacement from New Orleans via Katrina – and subsequently relocated back home – the band has evolved to embody contemporary roots music.
Named after a traditional foot-stomping fiddle tune, Sugar in the Gourd is every bit as lively and soulful, blending beautifully crafted original songs that explore life’s full range. From trains and drinking songs, to love, and redemption, this Americana/Roots band brings together diverse backgrounds and songwriting talents.
Americana and roots singer-songwriter Jackie Greene is a jack-of-all-trades, and an artist who can croon over soulful piano ballads as much as he can shred a bluesy guitar solo (like he did as the lead guitarist for The Black Crowes in 2013).
