Tom Rigney’s band of all stars simmers and cooks with musical intelligence.Their high energy live show features tight ensemble playing, deeply infectious grooves, and rich soloing. Renowned guitarist Danny Caron (Marcia Ball, Clifton Chenier, Charles Brown), boogie queen Caroline Dahl, Steve Parks on bass and Brent Rapone on drums have carved evocative and powerfully uplifting music, led by that guy in the red boots.
The David Nelson Band has been recording and performing around the country since 1994. Their broad musical palette spans the Almost Acoustic style that Nelson played with Jerry Garcia, through roots rock n roll, and psychedelic country-rock.
Mark McLay & The Dustdevils play American rock and roll rooted in the storytelling tradition of John Hiatt, Jackson Browne, and Bruce Springsteen. Mark’s nuanced, expressive vocals carry tuneful melodies and meaningful lyrics, wrapped in sophisticated, song-first arrangements that balance grit, heart, and hope.

BandWorks is a local music program started in 1993 that builds bands by matching youth, teen and adult musicians with peers. The bands rehearse two hours a week and perform seasonally at venues like the Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley.

Six student rock bands from Marin School of the Arts at Novato High School will perform songs representing a wide variety of eras and musical styles. Selected by audition, MSA Rock Band members represent grade levels nine through twelve and a wide variety of musical experiences and interests. In one of the few public school rock programs that meets as a regular part of the school day, students receive instruction in instrumental techniques, music theory, songwriting, and how to successfully collaborate. Alumni of the MSA Rock Bands have gone on to earn admission to prestigious music schools and achieve success as professional musicians.
