Wreckless Strangers open the night with their signature “Ameri-Cali Soul” sound, a rich blend of blues, Americana, funk, rock, and improvisational spirit inspired by legends like Bonnie Raitt, Fleetwood Mac, Tower of Power, and the Grateful Dead. Closing out the evening, PTI (Pardon the Interruption) brings an upbeat fusion of ska, funk, reggae, prog, AfroBeat, and rock influences.
Sgt. Splendor is fueled by chemistry, curiosity, and serious musicianship. Vargas delivers vocals with clarity, bite, and an unflinching sense of timing, while McFadden’s shape-shifting guitar work draws from gritty rock, funk, blues, and flamenco. That approach has landed them on festival stages such as BottleRock, MEMPHO, High Sierra, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, and Olympia Funk Fest, as well as tours and shared bills with Samantha Fish, Fantastic Negrito, Joan Baez, The Nth Power, Tab Benoit, and Mike Dillon’s Punkadelick.
The Westones are a powerhouse supergroup from Oakland, fusing heavy soul, deep-pocket funk, and raw R&B into a sound that’s as timeless as it is fresh. Featuring seasoned players who have toured nationally with acts like Dirtwire, Con Brio, Midtown Social, Smoked Out Soul, Afrolicious and The Routine, the band brings a rare mix of chops, chemistry, and grit.
The Soul Section blends the great funk and soul of the 60s and 70s with influences from across the rock era. They are an eight-member group of experienced musicians who share a love for live performance and a solid dance beat YouTube. The band is also an active supporter of Black Lives Matter and systemic change, reflecting their roots
Big Blu Soul Quarter bring the soul of San Francisco to their music and live show. The band shares an extreme passion for the music of 60’s and 70’s soul, funk and jazz… the classic sounds of Motown, Stax, Daptones and Blue Note Records but with a fresh and original spin.
Black Joe Lewis is a blues, funk and soul artist influenced by Howlin' Wolf and James Brown. He formed Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears in Austin, Texas, in 2007. In March 2009, Esquire listed Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears as one of the "Ten Bands Set to Break Out at 2009's SXSW Festival."
