It was time to push down the gas pedal on the possibility and potential of what Magnolia Boulevard could be\, and ultimately has become — in sonic design and in the live realm. \n “The sound has been described as ‘Appalachian Soul\,’ and I really like that because of our Appalachian roots\,” Noelle says. “You get a taste of folk with the songwriting portion\, but you also have that rock and soul foundation.” \nWatching Noelle under the bright lights\, her stage presence immediately conjures whispers in the audience\, where her fiery vocal talents are compared to the likes of Susan Tedeschi\, Bonnie Raitt\, and Grace Potter. And yet\, Magnolia Boulevard remains unique and steadfast in its approach. \n The powerhouse group is rounded out by Roddy Puckett (bass)\, Austin Lewis (guitar) and Brandon Johnson (drums). DESCRIPTION:Roy Rogers has been considered one of the world’s preeminent master Delta slide guitarists with many decades of touring the globe. Over 20 recordings to his credit\, Rogers has garnered 8 Grammy nominations for producing\, as a recording artist\, and as a songwriter.  His collaborations have garnered major media accolades worldwide for producing critically acclaimed Grammy nominated recordings for John Lee Hooker and Ramblin’ Jack Elliott\, as well as collaborations with Bonnie Raitt\, Carlos Santana\, Bela Fleck\, Allan Toussaint\, Sammy Hagar & Ray Manzarek among others. Known for his searing performances that have been named a festival favorites including New Orleans Jazz Fest\, North Sea Jazz Festival in Holland\, Montreux in Switzerland\, Pistoia in Italy\, + North American festivals in Canada & the United States\, with more than 4 decades of touring the world. \n\nIn 2023 Rogers re- entered the performance space after the pandemic signing with the Cumberland Music Collective Agency in Nashville. Performances have included 25 + dates for the ‘Just Like That…” tour with Bonnie Raitt\, with Rogers performing solo in support of the tour and then joining Raitt’s band at the end of their show delivering songs that they wrote together or performed together for years during their long friendship. Rogers will continue to also perform with his long-time band\, The Delta Rhythm Kings\, in 2025 and select Solo dates.\n\n“I’m the guy that always likes to push the envelope\,” Rogers says\, at home in Northern California. “We have always covered a lot of ground with other artists that I have had synergy with our musical tastes\, and my band has been with me for many years – we just sync so well.  I’ve been very fortunate through the years to collaborate with many gifted musicians that I admire and consider longtime friends.”  \n\nBorn in Redding in 1950 and named after Hollywood’s King of the Cowboys\, Rogers grew up in the Bay Area of California and started playing guitar at the age of 12 and became entranced by the recordings of the blues\, especially Robert Johnson at age 15.  By age 13 he was playing in a local R & B band and quickly became a young blues fanatic hitting the San Francisco’s ‘60s club scene. When Hooker asked him to go on tour in 1982\, it changed his life becoming John’s friend\, musical director\, biz manager on the road and eventually his producer for 4 Grammy albums of note “The Healer”\, which won a Grammy for both Hooker & Raitt\, as well as the releases of “Mr. Lucky”; Boom Boom & Chill Out. In addition\, producing releases for folk legend Ramblin’ Jack Elliott Rogers “Friends of Mine” and “The Long Ride” for Elliott which also garnered Grammy nominations.

But when she and her husband Keith moved on\, they founded the Heart of Gold Band. To honor her passing (November 2\, 2025) and celebrate her life (and her birthday\, August 22nd)\, the Heart of Gold Band and a number of friends and family will assemble at the Mystic Theatre for two nights of music\, joy\, sweet memories and probably a few tears. \nThey’ll play tunes from throughout her career\, from Muscle Shoals to Egypt and beyond. Donna Jean Thatcher was born in Florence\, Alabama\, and by the time she was in high school\, she was singing harmonies at the two studios that created the legendary “Muscle Shoals Sound\,” including Percy Sledge’s “When a Man Loves a Woman” and Elvis Presley’s “Suspicious Minds.” She moved to California\, met and married Keith Godchaux\, and then introduced herself to Jerry Garcia: “I need your phone number\, because my husband is going to be your new keyboard player.” She was right. She also brought her exquisite voice to the band. \nKeith Godchaux’s untimely death in 1980 brought an unfortunate end to the Heart of Gold Band\, but the partnership of Steve Kimock and Greg Anton it created led to the band Zero and a great deal more memorable music. \nDonna Jean was one of the sweetest and most-loved women ever. She touched countless hearts and now we gather in love and gratitude to celebrate her spirit\, the music and the enduring legacy she leaves behind.

DESCRIPTION:First appearing at Sweetwater in March of 2024\, the live mic\, hosted open Bluegrass jam series typically occurs on the fourth Sunday of each month. This community event has grown a strong following of Bluegrass players and fans alike\, with it’s popular\, casual performance-oriented jam format welcoming Intermediate to Advanced players to the famed Sweetwater stage. With a curated support band drawn from a rotating cast of talented CBA members\, who provide a welcoming and inclusive environment as well as hot on-the-fly picking and singing backup\, the Sessions are always full of fun\, driving rhythm\, and high-lonesome energy!

DESCRIPTION:The Corte Madera Community Foundation will continue their long-standing tradition of sponsoring music for the community this summer. Music will be from 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAmericana and roots singer-songwriter Jackie Greene is a jack-of-all-trades\, and an artist who can croon over soulful piano ballads as much as he can shred a bluesy guitar solo (like he did as the lead guitarist for The Black Crowes in 2013). jackiegreene.com \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease note that the concert series will be held at Town Park while Menke Park is being renovated.
