DESCRIPTION:Considered the ultimate musical theater experience\, Mountain Play has beckoned locals and visitors up Mount Tamalpais since 1913. This spectacular venue gives the entire audience a panoramic view of legendary Mt. Tamalpais.  \nYou can choose to hike the 7-mile trail from Mill Valley; please allow 2 to 2.5 hours if you do.  Or you can bicycle up the mountain. Click here for biking directions. You can drive\, but you must reserve a parking space as there are less that 200 spaces available for this 3\,750 seat venue. Most people opt to take the shuttle\, which is just $10/person or $5 for youth. You will park and ride from the Tamalpais High School or Shoreline Parking Lot. Many opt to take the shuttle to the event\, then hike the downhill journey back.  You can bring a picnic lunch or pre-order a box lunch\, which will be waiting for you at the venue. You will see that option when you purchase your tickets. There will be beer and wine vendors at the venue as well. Not all vendors take credit cards\, so you might wish to bring some cash. \nThis year’s production is The Wizard of Oz. Follow the yellow brick trail to Mount Tamalpais in this delightful stage adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s beloved tale\, featuring the iconic musical score from the MGM film. DESCRIPTION:A living lesson in fortitude\, the vocal trio of Cecil “Skeley” Spence\, Albert “Apple Gabriel” Craig\, and Lascelle “Wiss” Bulgin overcame adversity\, illness\, and poverty to become one of the finest roots groups in Jamaica’s history. All three had been afflicted by polio and first became acquainted\, albeit briefly\, at Kingston’s Mona Rehabilitation Clinic.\nThe three teens had individually all previously converted to rastafarianism\, now their shared faith and childhood experiences helped forge a strong friendship. They spent the next six years singing around Kingston for their suppers and by 1975\, Israel Vibration was a vocal force to be reckoned with. The group’s exquisite dread sound and militant cultural themes made an instant impression and the trio now found themselves on-stage opening for the likes of Bob Marley and Dennis Brown.

DESCRIPTION:Mariachi Master Jóse Hernàndez and his Sol de Mexico have a history as rich and colorful as mariachi music itself. A proud fifth-generation mariachi musician\, Maestro Hernàndez’ roots trace back to 1879\, to the birthplace of mariachi\, the state of Jalisco\, Mexico. No one else on the mariachi music scene navigates the warm waters of classical\, pop\, jazz\, swing\, and Broadway tunes with such grace. Even to those weaned on traditional mariachi\, Jose’s organic\, irreverent renditions have become instant classics. Under the leadership of Hernàndez\, Mariachi Sol de Mexico is one of the only mariachi groups in the world that performs in the classical music circuit (in addition to concerts at performing arts centers\, casinos\, and festivals). They have performed with the New Mexico\, Denver\, Sacramento\, San Francisco\, and Inland Empire Symphony Orchestras\, as well as with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. In 2007\, the group toured worldwide with Luis Miguel. They also perform regularly at various mariachi festivals throughout their home base of California and around the United States. DESCRIPTION:Erica Ambrin & The Eclectic Soul Project (ESP) is an ever-evolving Soul band with a dash of Hip-Hop from Northern California. Formed in 2015 while recording Ambrin’s debut EP Suga\, the band is a collective of musicians from all walks of life – a jam band homage to music. ESP’s unique dynamics fuse soulful lead vocals and deeply personal lyrics with high energy bravado. The band has opened for iconic musicians such as KRS-One\, Nappy Roots\, The Wailers\, Martin Luther\, and Anuhea. After gaining popularity as a contestant on American Idol\, Ambrin moved to Maui to record her first hip-hop project Lucid Dreamer. \nAbout Luther Locals Live \nMake it all about great music\, family fun\, and dancing on the big green grass this summer with Luther Locals Live\, LBC’s free outdoor concert series featuring the local bands you love.
