SUMMARY:Marin Theatre presents The White Chip
DESCRIPTION:Success seems to come easily to Steven McAlister. Charismatic and constantly in motion\, he’s built a life that looks enviable from the outside — complete with a dream job at a prestigious theatre. But from his very first drink at 12\, it’s clear he has been lying to himself for years. Equal parts hilarious and heartbreaking\, this “recovery comedy” unfolds from Steven’s own disarmingly candid and charmingly funny perspective. Named for the tokens given in Alcoholics Anonymous to mark the beginning of sobriety\, The White Chip follows Steven as he barrels through the highs\, lows\, and spectacular missteps of addiction\, telling a story about the courage to start over\, one day at a time. Marin Theatre Artistic Director Lance Gardner helms this production. \n\nThis play is recommended for ages 13 and up. \n \nAdvisory Warning: Water-Based Haze\, Strobe Lights

SUMMARY:Raven Performing Arts Theater presents macbitches
DESCRIPTION:macbitches takes a darkly funny look at the toxic\, high-stakes world of university theater\, centering on a freshman who unexpectedly lands the role of Lady Macbeth. The play centers on freshman acting major Hailey\, who unexpectedly scores the coveted role of Lady Macbeth. Her upperclassmen rivals immediately invite her over to “celebrate.” As the Fireball and Svedka flow\, the young women interrogate their own ambitions as well as the power structures that have shaped their education—and when the night spirals into violent and shocking acts of betrayal\, they come to learn that what’s done cannot be undone. \nWritten by Sophie McIntosh\nDirected by Jeanette Seisdedos

SUMMARY:Sweetwater presents DirtySpoon with The Love Handles
DESCRIPTION:Dirtyspoon is arguably the most underrated\, most important and most beloved band in this entire bio.   Deftly (Deaf-ly?)\, navigating various genres \, the Dirtyspoon bus ride makes stops at 80s Alt\, Big Hair Spandex Metal\, Nostalgia Pop and Familiar Funk.  We believe that the key to a great party is getting the ladies on the dance floor.  And you know we’re right fellas.  Dirtyspoon recently underwent genetic testing and it turns out our ancestry includes Ska\, Reggae\, Country\, Nu Metal\, Hip Hop\, Emo\, ShoeGaze\, Pop and Blues. And Icelandic.  Dirtyspoon covers highly danceable hits from the 80s\, 90s but You Aughta Know that already.  We have been favorably compared to\, in no particular order\, the Joe Montana era 49ers\, a bottle of 1982 Mouton Rothschild and the second season of Hill Street Blues.  Equally comfortable covering Come on Eileen… Sweet Child of mine… And Uptown Funk … Dirtyspoon is the soundtrack to your misspent youth …missed opportunities …and the one who got away.
