SUMMARY:Sweetwater Music Hall presents Teddy Thompson
DESCRIPTION:Beloved London-born\, Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter Teddy Thompson has returned with the exquisitely crafted Never Be The Same\, his first collection of original material since 2020. Across ten tracks\, Thompson refines his craft via an exploration of music’s enduring preoccupations — love\, longing\, and the uneasy passage of time.\n\nThis album wasn’t built upon a grand narrative. There was no self-imposed exile\, no forced reinvention. Instead\, it is centered around an exhortation that is threaded through the songs like a refrain: “Never Be The Same\,” its title only revealing itself to Thompson after he’d completed the recording.\n\n“It’s a phrase that\, unconsciously\, I used twice. And when I saw it on the page\, I realized\, this is the message of this album\,” says Thompson. “Don’t ever be the same. Change. Grow! Even when the sentiment is\, woe is me\, I’ll never recover after that love or loss. The message is still\, change. Don’t get too comfortable. Everything is temporary\, so evolve or perish!”

SUMMARY:Sweetwater Music Hall presents Dan Tyminski Band with Iona Fyfe
DESCRIPTION:Dan Tyminski was six years old when his parents began taking him to fiddle contests\, square dances\, and bluegrass festivals across New England. For a young musician who would later become one of the biggest names in modern-day bluegrass\, those early experiences were life changing.\n\n“Watching live music always spoke to me much louder than sitting in front of my record player\,” he remembers. “I loved it. Wherever music was being played\, I wanted to go watch. Years later\, I still feel that way.”\n\nThroughout his 30+ year career\, Tyminski has left his mark in every corner of modern music. His voice famously accompanies George Clooney’s performance of the Stanley Brothers’ classic song\, “I Am A Man of Constant Sorrow\,” in the film\, Oh Brother\, Where Art Thou? and his vocal collaboration with Swedish DJ Avicii on the song “Hey Brother” was a global smash\, having been streamed more than a billion times to date. His diverse solo projects and years of work with Alison Krauss and Union Station have yielded troves of award-winning music.  \nWith his newest album release – the Grammy-nominated 2024 concert album Dan Tyminski: Live From The Ryman – he captures the magic of those live shows\, while also proving that he still has the same passion for live music as he did when he was growing up.

SUMMARY:Sweetwater Music Hall presents Margo Price – Wild At Heart Tour with Jeremy Ivey
DESCRIPTION:Nearly a decade ago\, Margo Price turned Nashville on its head with her breakthrough\, beloved debut solo album\, Midwest Farmer’s Daughter. Released in the throes of bro-country and before pop stars were crossing over into the genre left and right\, it showcased an artist completely unafraid to double down not only on herself\, but what she’d always loved: classic country songs written from the intellect and the gut\, hell-bent on truth-telling and both timeless and urgent all at once. Respected by her peers\, praised by critics and beloved by her fans\, Price created a lane where independent-minded\, insurgent country music can exist and thrive alongside the mainstream\, and became an ardent fighter for her beliefs in a genre where the norm is to shut up and sing. A trailblazer and a champion for the craft\, Price redefined what it meant to be a modern country artist. \nAnd now she’s back with an exquisite\, truly timeless album that reconnects with her roots and pays tribute to the art of the country song\, inspired in part by the legends whom she now calls colleagues and friends. Hard Headed Woman is both a look forward and a look back: a way to march forward while staying true to yourself when the path of less resistance is right there in front of us\, and short cuts are around every corner. And a way to look back when we need to trim what is no longer working\, and to stay connected with where we’re from. It is a promise and a manifesto\, a love song to both a city and a genre\, and a defiant cry for individuality.

SUMMARY:Sweetwater Music Hall presents Westerly with New Westerns
DESCRIPTION:Originating in the San Francisco Bay Area\, Westerly is a six piece band that writes about spirituality\, love\, and the state of the world. Though they integrate roots influences\, the band is expressly not a retrospective. Their sound brings contemporary flourishes that often give nod to the Americana\, Rock\, and other various forms of Roots Music that have characterized the West Coast musical landscape. Most recently the band is promoting their new singles “They Will Test You”\, “This Weapon”\, and “Give Me A Song”. All three tunes were penned by Westerly’s lead singer and principal songwriter Sterling Spence and showcase the band at its creative best. In addition to Spence\, Westerly’s lineup includes Scott Wilson (lead guitar)\, Mike Bond (drums)\, Shiva Garshasbi (vocals)\, Spencer Hatfield (bass)\, and Evelyn Yining Hong (keys). A force to be reckoned with live\, the band actively performs all over the state of California\, gracing clubs\, bars\, coffee shops\, radio stations\, old folks homes and circus tents. They have shared stages with the likes of guitar virtuoso Grace Bowers and Latin Music Legends Ozomatli as well as being featured extensively on Bay Area radio stations including KPFA\, KALW\, and KALX. 2026 will see the band continuing to release new material and expanding their presence on stages up and down the West Coast.

SUMMARY:Sweetwater presents Che Prasad and the Shark Alley Hobos “Shiva Me Timbers”
DESCRIPTION:Join multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Che Prasad and his band the Shark Alley Hobos for a performance of his critically acclaimed album Shiva Me Timbers.  \nWritten with his late brother\, Mikie Lee Prasad\, Shiva Me Timbers draws on influences ranging from sea shanties to American folk to North Indian Classical music. In a review of the album\, Marin IJ music critic Paul Liberatore describes the opening song “Early Checkout” as having a “Mark Knopfler sound.” Liberatore also describes “echoes of Jerry Garcia’s soulfully strained vocal style on ‘Afraid of the Sting\,’ Tom Waits never growled harder than Prasad does on the story song ‘Take Me to Confession\,’ and only a pathologist could authoritatively write a song like ‘The Italian Pathologist.’ “ \nCome experience Shiva Me Timbers performed live for the first time in over a decade!

SUMMARY:Sweetwater presents Shoplifters United (The Smiths tribute) with Just Like Heaven (The Cure tribute)
DESCRIPTION:Based in the San Francisco Bay Area\, Shoplifters United bring to life the brilliant songs of legendary group The Smiths with an energetic live show and highly accurate sonic recreations of beloved album tracks and deep cuts.\n\nFormed in 1982\, iconic British rock group The Smiths are regarded as one of the most influential and important groups to emerge from the 1980s. From Morrissey’s lyrical poetry to the inspired musicianship of Johnny Marr\, Andy Rourke\, and Mike Joyce\, their influence can be heard throughout popular music for decades since and yet their sound is still unique and timeless.  \n\nBizarre coincidence? Shoplifters United had their very first rehearsal on the same day in September of 2022 as the death of Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen was truly\, and quite literally\, dead and a humble Smiths tribute band was born. Shoplifters United are Pascal\, Matt\, Tommy\, and James\, a group of friends who share a love for the music of The Smiths. Great care has been taken to emulate the sound on those classic Smiths records down to every note and groove. Our hope is that when you go to a Shoplifters United show\, you can close your eyes and imagine the year is 1984 and you are at The Haçienda nightclub in Manchester.

SUMMARY:Sweetwater Music Hall presents Sunhunter with Beso Negro
DESCRIPTION:SunHunter is the alt-rock project of Tomas Dessle\, a home-grown Marin County misfit turned global troubadour. After tasting all the flavors of the psychedelic rainbow and relentlessly pursuing his craft\, SunHunter eventually morphed into a veritable musical chameleon. Traveling the world with his guitar\, he has electrified venues big and small throughout California\, the Pacific Northwest Coast\, and all over Asia in front of crowds of 10\,000 strong.\n\nSunHunter performs as Tomas solo\, as a duo\, or as a four-piece band featuring his longtime partners in crime: guitar slinger Jackson Langford\, bassist Zach Norman\, and percussionist Josh Garcia. SunHunter’s original songs span all corners of rock\, creating genre-bending power anthems for hopeful\, broken souls. Tomas’s soaring vocals\, melodies\, and heartfelt lyrics\, alongside the landscape-changing riffs of guitar hero Jackson and his sun-soaked\, saccharine harmonies\, define their singular sound.
