SUMMARY:Mystic Theatre presents The Stinkfoot Orchestra
DESCRIPTION:The Stinkfoot Orchestra pulls no punches – delivering 2 sets of Frank’s music via a 14-piece ensemble which incorporates a 6-piece horn section\, tuned percussion and 5 vocalists. Oh\, and\, just to add a little extra garlic\, the band is also fronted alternately by 3 of Frank’s most iconic vocalists. \nFounded in 2019 by Nick Chargin – a 35-year veteran of the SF Bay Area music scene\, the Stinkfoot Orchestra spent the pandemic transcribing the music and honing their craft – finally bringing the fruits of their labor to the stage in September of 2021. SFO is dedicated to presenting Zappa’s compositions with the respect they deserve and the musicianship required to execute properly. \nThe ensemble has toured up and down the West Coast since the Summer of 2022 – constantly expanding their reach and exposing a whole new generation to the music as it was meant to be heard while leaving even the most critical Zappa fans pining for more.

SUMMARY:Mystic Theatre presents THE UNAUTHORIZED ROLLING STONES
DESCRIPTION:Celebrating 25 years of chaos and chemistry Rudy Colombini & The Unauthorized Rolling Stones turn every room electric — detonating a full-contact rock & roll experience. \nSince 2001\, Rudy Colombini & The Unauthorized Rolling Stones have delivered a full-throttle Rolling Stones concert experience\, lighting up stages world-wide with the raw power\, danger\, and electricity that define true rock & roll. In 2026\, the band marks 25 years of shaking rooms\, rattling speakers\, and keeping \nthe spirit of classic rock very much alive. At the center is Rudy Colombini — a frontman with explosive charisma\, razor-sharp instincts\, and total \ncommand of the stage\, channeling the confidence\, movement\, and reckless abandon that made rock icons immortal. Having studied the Stones live for decades\, Colombini doesn’t imitate\, he inhabits the role\, driving a show that feels authentic\, massive\, and alive. \n“This is a big show\,” says Colombini. “A real rock & roll event.” \nAfter 25 years\, The Unauthorized Rolling Stones remain the closest thing to the real deal — loud\, fearless\, and unforgettable. \nHaving shared the stage and opened for 30+ household names such as: Elton John\, Journey\, Train\, and Chaka Khan! It’s a show you don’t want to miss!

SUMMARY:Mystic Theatre presents
DESCRIPTION:Featuring Steve Kimock\, Greg Anton\, Zion Rock Godchaux\, Brian Godchaux\, David Mackay\, Maria Muldaur\, Mookie Siegel\, Wally Ingram with Kinsman Mackay\, Frank Goodman plus special guests! \nA Portion of the Proceeds to Benefit Alive Hospice & Camp Winnarainbow \nDonna Jean Godchaux MacKay will always be remembered for the lustrous vocals and lovely demeanor she brought to her near-decade in the Grateful Dead. But when she and her husband Keith moved on\, they founded the Heart of Gold Band. To honor her passing (November 2\, 2025) and celebrate her life (and her birthday\, August 22nd)\, the Heart of Gold Band and a number of friends and family will assemble at the Mystic Theatre for two nights of music\, joy\, sweet memories and probably a few tears. \nThey’ll play tunes from throughout her career\, from Muscle Shoals to Egypt and beyond. Donna Jean Thatcher was born in Florence\, Alabama\, and by the time she was in high school\, she was singing harmonies at the two studios that created the legendary “Muscle Shoals Sound\,” including Percy Sledge’s “When a Man Loves a Woman” and Elvis Presley’s “Suspicious Minds.” She moved to California\, met and married Keith Godchaux\, and then introduced herself to Jerry Garcia: “I need your phone number\, because my husband is going to be your new keyboard player.” She was right. She also brought her exquisite voice to the band. \nKeith Godchaux’s untimely death in 1980 brought an unfortunate end to the Heart of Gold Band\, but the partnership of Steve Kimock and Greg Anton it created led to the band Zero and a great deal more memorable music. \nDonna Jean was one of the sweetest and most-loved women ever. She touched countless hearts and now we gather in love and gratitude to celebrate her spirit\, the music and the enduring legacy she leaves behind.

SUMMARY:Mystic Theatre presents Vieux Farka Touré
DESCRIPTION:Often referred to as “The Hendrix of the Sahara”\, Vieux Farka Touré was born in Niafunké\, Mali in 1981. He is the son of legendary Malian guitar player Ali Farka Touré\, who died in 2006. Ali Farka Touré came from a historical tribe of soldiers\, and defied his parents in becoming a musician. When Vieux was in his teens\, he declared that he also wanted to be a musician. His father disapproved due to the pressures he had experienced being a musician. Rather\, he wanted Vieux to become a soldier. But with help from family friend the kora maestro Toumani Diabaté\, Vieux eventually convinced his father to give him his blessing to become a musician shortly before Ali passed.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVieux was initially a drummer / calabash player at Mali’s Institut National des Arts but secretly began playing guitar in 2001. Ali Farka Touré was weakened with cancer when Vieux announced that he was going to record an album. Ali recorded a couple of tracks with him\, and these recordings\, which can be heard on Vieux’s debut CD\, were amongst his final ones. It has been said that the senior Touré played rough mixes of these songs when people visited him in his final days\, at peace with\, and proud of\, his son’s talent as a musician. \nAs a passionate champion for the people of Mali and The Sahel\, Vieux founded the charity Amahrec Sahel in 2012. As part of Amahrec Sahel’s mission to support humanitarian reconstruction and culture\, the charity has provided school supplies for children\, supported an orphanage in Bamako and provided musical instruments for young musicians in Mali. Vieux is also the director of The Ali Farka Touré Foundation\, an international organization dedicated to the preservation of Ali’s legacy and the cultural growth of Mali.
