SUMMARY:Luther Burbank Center presents Charley Crockett – Age of the Ram Tour with Special Guest Alicia Blue
DESCRIPTION:Charley Crockett has carved out a singular place in modern country music by refusing to play by the rules. A wanderer turned street singer turned chart-climbing songwriter\, he’s built a career on instinct\, independence\, and a deep reverence for the renegade tradition of artists like Willie Nelson\, Waylon Jennings\, and Gram Parsons. Fresh off the release of Age of the Ram\, the final chapter of his Sagebrush Trilogy\, Crockett arrives with a new batch of songs that paint a vivid picture of his journey from Texas dreamer\, New York street singer\, and twice-convicted felon to the belly of the country music beast. \nThis is Crockett’s vision of hard country music. Guitar and pedal steel are the rule on the album\, often accompanied by piano\, harmonica\, and keys. Produced by Shooter Jennings\, the record leans into hard country textures—guitar\, pedal steel\, harmonica\, and the dusty atmosphere of an old western film. Crockett threads narrative tracks\, character studies\, and classic covers into a vivid frontier tale\, punctuated by moments of introspection that reveal the man behind the myth.

SUMMARY:Luther Burbank Center presents I'm With her
DESCRIPTION:With the 2014 formation of I’m With Her\, singer/songwriters Sarah Jarosz\, Aoife O’Donovan\, and Sara Watkins introduce an essential new force into the world of folk music: a close-knit alliance of highly esteemed musicians\, each graced with a deep understanding of folk tradition and unbridled passion for expanding its possibilities. \nOn their long awaited second LP\, Wild and Clear and Blue\, their luminous harmonies infuse a soul-searching body of work that explores themes of ancestry\, lineage\, and the collective human experience with stories about reaching into the past\, navigating a chaotic present\, and bravely moving forward into the unknown. It follows a critically lauded debut album\, See You Around\, and standalone singles\, like “Call My Name” (winner of the 2020 Grammy for Best American Roots Song). \nAll multi-Grammy-winners with deep roots in the folk scene\, Watkins\, Jarosz\, and O’Donovan first discovered their chemistry during an impromptu performance at the 2014 Telluride Bluegrass Festival\, then co-founded I’m With Her\, and began touring extensively and performing at acclaimed festivals across the globe. \nProduced by Josh Kaufman—a member of Bonny Light Horseman and multi-instrumentalist/songwriter/arranger/producer who’s worked with Bob Weir and The National—Wild and Clear and Blue ultimately adds a bold new urgency to their delicate entangling of lived-in narrative\, fable-like storytelling\, and nuanced reflection on cycles of life. \nI’m With Her has partnered with PLUS1 so that $1 per ticket goes to supporting organizations working for equity\, access\, and dignity for all. www.plus1.org

SUMMARY:Roustabout Theater’s Professional Ensemble presents The Homecoming
DESCRIPTION:Roustabout Theater’s Intimate Revival of Harold Pinter’s The Homecoming Explores Family\, Power and Desire \nA searing masterpiece of modern theater\, The Homecoming returns to the stage in a riveting new production that features beloved North Bay actors in this provocative drama by Nobel Prize–winning playwright Harold Pinter. \nSet in 1960’s North London\, The Homecoming explores how an unexpected family reunion spirals into a tense and witty psychological battle\, as shifting alliances and unspoken desires transform the household. Through razor-sharp dialogue and unexpected humor\, Pinter draws audiences into a world where every pause speaks volumes. \nCelebrated for its daring themes and uncompromising vision\, The Homecoming won the Tony Award for Best Play and remains one of the defining works of twentieth-century drama. Roustabout’s dynamic Ensemble promises a memorable theatrical event as it questions the roles we perform within our own families. \nPerformances are June 13 – 28 at The Luther Burbank Center for the Arts where Roustabout Theater is Resident Theater Company. \nRoustabout Theater is the longest running Resident Theater at the LBC offering both our Professional Ensemble performances utilizing professional talent from across the Bay Area and our award-winning Apprentice Program\, a leading training program for actors and stage managers ages 11 – 20.
