SUMMARY:JaM Cellars Presents Johnny Marr with special guest His Lordship
DESCRIPTION:Johnny Marr started his career with The Smiths\, beginning an amazing history as one of the most influential songwriters and guitarists in British independent music. His subsequent creative journey has seen him at the heart of The The\, Electronic\, Modest Mouse and The Cribs\, as well as working with such names as The Pretenders\, Talking Heads\, The Avalanches\, and the musician and composer Hans Zimmer – with whom he recorded the score and soundtrack for the most recent James Bond film\, No Time To Die\, including the Oscar-nominated title track created with Billie Eilish. \nSince launching in 2013\, Marr’s solo career has given rise to four UK Top Ten studio albums – The Messenger (2013)\, Playland (2014)\, Call The Comet (2018)\, Fever Dreams Pts 1-4 (2022) and a career-spanning book\, Marr’s Guitars (via Thames & Hudson). \nThe full measure of this extraordinarily fertile creative period is captured on his latest offering\, Spirit Power: The Best Of Johnny Marr\, a major new collection curated by Johnny encompassing songs from his first ten years as a solo artist\, a scattering of stand-alone singles and two incendiary new cuts\, Somewhere and The Answer. It’s a body of work that mirrors Marr’s unquenchable life force\, breadth of musicality\, and above all\, his love of melody.

SUMMARY:Mystic Theatre presents Chancey Williams
DESCRIPTION:Saddle Bronc athlete-turned neo-traditional country music sensation Chancey Williams has gone from competing on horseback to performing on center stage. As one of only two artists (along with Chris LeDoux) to both compete in the rodeo and perform on the main stage at Cheyenne Frontier Days and the only singer/songwriter to be endorsed by CINCH®\, Williams is the next authentic cowboy of country music. The northeastern Wyoming native has toured the nation\, taking the stage ahead of headliners Toby Keith\, Cody Johnson\, Alan Jackson\, Dierks Bentley and Parker McCollum\, performing at a sold-out Ryman Auditorium\, Red Rocks Amphitheatre\, as well as headlining at The National Finals Rodeo and multiple performances at the Grand Ole’ Opry. \n“For us\, it’s been a long journey of playing against what was popular in country music\, but we just stayed the course\,” Williams told People Magazine of staying true to his roots. “I always tell the band\, don’t worry about whatever any other artist is doing. We have blinders on.” \nRepresenting the western lifestyle and cowboy mentality in its truest form\, The Cheyenne Frontier Days Hall of Fame inductee’s sound and subject matter has found its time in Nashville’s country scene\, as demonstrated on his latest release\, seventh studio album Miles On Me. The project includes several previously released singles\, including 2025 stand-outs “Pearl Snap Preacher\,” “The Ballad of Uncle Don” (an autobiographical tune about his actual Uncle Don)\, and the title track\, as well as three new tunes\, including focus track “Past the Point of Rescue.” \nSaving Country Music wrote\, “If we could wave a magic wand and instantly remake mainstream country music into something much better than what it is today\, Chancey Williams…would not be a bad wish at all.” \n“The time has finally come for Chancey Williams\,” declared People Magazine. “Cowboys are cool again!”

SUMMARY:Mystic Theatre presents Vanessa Collier
DESCRIPTION:Singer/songwriter Vanessa Collier’s sixth album Do It My Own Way was recorded on analog gear with the musicians largely in one room. Do It My Own Way is sonically inspired by the classic Memphis soul sound of Stax and Hi Records\, especially that of the Staples Singers. Second single “Wild As a Rainstorm\,” which dives deep into soul territory\, powerfully gives advice to women and people who feel left out to ignore the naysayers and “Be a tapestry of dreams.” The track been added to Spotify’s official Retro Soul playlist. The groove and horns would make Willie Mitchell proud\, and indeed features legendary Hi Records organist Rev. Charles Hodges. The vocals are powerful\, awe-inspiring\, and undeniably soulful vocals.  \nTalking about the album\, Collier adds\, “It’s a warmer and darker sounding a record\, recorded intentionally to reflect a throwback to older school soul\, R&B\, blues\, and to the days of great songs and songwriters\, tube amps and analog gear.”  \nDo It My Own Way takes listeners back to the heyday of music with Memphis soul-influenced horn arrangements\, layers of vocals for color\, with poignant and powerful saxophone solos that deliver a quietly powerful undercurrent to each song and the album as a whole. Minor key Americana/noir “Take Me Back” served as the first single. The album kicks off with the funk workout “Elbow Grease.” On an album full of incredible grooves\, “Shoulda Known Better” stands out while “Just One More” sways toa rhumba beat.  \nThe gospel-tinged “Rosetta” pays tribute to one of Collier’s heroes\, electric guitar pioneer Sister Rosetta Tharpe. Collier sings\, “She’s carried the torch so I can see a little bit better… There’d be no Elvis or Chuck Berry. Sometimes the women do it best. She tackled all the inequities. And fought with strength and audacity.”

SUMMARY:The California Theatre presents Spike Sikes and His Awesome Hotcakes
DESCRIPTION:Spike Sikes\, Awesome Hotcakes\, and a whole lot of music! With the perfect recipe of soul\, swing\, R&B\, jazz\, it’s going to be cooking down at The Cal! \nJust The Right Recipe… The most frequently heard comment after a Spike’s Awesome Hotcakes gig goes something like this – \n“No one is making this kind of music anymore!” \nBut what\, exactly\, is “this kind of music?” \nLike hotcakes themselves\, it goes by many names. Soul. Swing. Rhythm & Blues. Jazz. Jump. It’s a sound that’s classic and simple\, but when it’s done right\, it hits the spot\, and has you grinning from ear to ear. Spike has spent years searching for this sound. \nFrom the Texas blues joints he cut his teeth in to the funky halls of New Orleans\, he was always studying the music\, trying to find just the right recipe. It makes perfect sense that he found his bandmates in Sonoma County\, a music scene that has fostered many eclectic artists for decades. \nWhat he didn’t know was how hungry audiences were for “this kind of…

SUMMARY:Sweetwater Music Hall presents David Nelson Band
DESCRIPTION:The David Nelson Band has been recording and performing around the country since 1994. Their broad musical palette spans the Almost Acoustic style that Nelson played with Jerry Garcia\, through roots rock n roll\, and psychedelic country-rock. The DNB perform David’s compositions (many co-written with Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter)\, select covers\, and several Grateful Dead classics upon which Nelson appeared on the original album releases. These stylistic elements\, combined with plenty of spontaneous free form improvisation\, create a sound that is uniquely David Nelson Band. Though the original songs are mostly written by Nelson\, the development of all the material is a fully collaborative effort. These days the DNB only tour select areas a few times a year\, as the individual band members are in high demand with other successful touring acts. Their loyal and enthusiastic fans relish these special times to reunite at Nelson family gatherings. DNB shows are a joyous reunion for all – a communal gathering where regulars and newcomers all feel part of an extended family. \n\nDavid Nelson – guitar/ vocals – is a founding member of the New Riders of the Purple Sage and long time musical partner of Jerry Garcias dating back to 1962 in the pre-Grateful Dead bluegrass band\, The Wildwood Boys. Nelson was also a member of the Jerry Garcia Acoustic Band (and appears on their 1988 album release “Almost Acoustic” and 2010’s “Ragged But Right”) and performed on three Grateful Dead albums – “Aoxomoxoa”\, “Workingmans Dead” & “American Beauty” – playing the iconic electric guitar solo on Box of Rain. Nelson has also performed as a member of Phil Lesh and Friends.\n\nBarry Sless – lead guitar/ pedal steel – currently tours with Bobby Weir and Wolf Bros\, Skeleton Crewe and Moonalice. He was a frequent member of Phil Lesh and Friends touring and local lineups since 2004. He’s toured with Chris Robinsons Green Leaf Rustlers (and appears on their 2020 album release\, From Within Marin)\, Kingfish\, Cowboy Jazz\, and Great American Taxi. Barry is a founding member of DNB.

SUMMARY:Coyote Sonoma presents Dustin Saylor and The Stowaways
DESCRIPTION:Join us for line dancing lessons from Grapevine Dance! Plus\, live music from Dustin Saylor & The Stowaways. \nDustin Saylor\, a Northern California-born country singer-songwriter\, has made a name for himself as the #1 Country/Folk artist in the San Francisco Bay Area. His musical journey began in childhood\, first at the piano and later as a guitarist and singer for his high school youth group and local church. Despite early challenges\, including a devastating American Idol rejection in 2009\, Saylor had a transformative moment on his long drive home\, realizing that true success required full commitment. Embracing his calling\, he quit bartending\, pursued a music degree at Sonoma State University\, and became a full-time musician. Over the years\, he has performed alongside artists like Tyler Rich\, Chase Rice\, and Daughtry\, with his sound often compared to Thomas Rhett and Chris Stapleton. His songwriting is deeply personal\, shaped by his early experiences of adoption and the contrasting struggles and joys of his life. Through his music\, Saylor seeks to inspire\, heal\, and create a space where people can connect beyond labels. Committed to his craft\, he remains “all in\,” determined to sing and play music for the rest of his life.

When the band formed in the early 1970s\, little did they know they would set the standard for hard rock bands that trailed. Many of the biggest acts of the ’80s became popular opening for headliners Y&T—and cut their teeth on the band\, as evidenced by the Y&T mentions in tell-all books by acts such as Metallica and Mötley Crüe. \nBorn in Oakland\, California\, Y&T is one of the San Francisco Bay Area’s own innovators of the hard rock sound. Whether performing to a festival crowd of fifty-thousand or in an intimate nightclub\, Y&T’s high-energy set and passionate performances still captivate legions of fans around the globe\, proving Y&T’s music timeless. \nOriginally formed as Yesterday and Today\, the initial powerhouse quartet—featuring Dave Meniketti (lead guitar/lead vocals)\, Phil Kennemore (bass)\, Leonard Haze (drums)\, and Joey Alves (rhythm guitar)—tore through the ’70s and ’80s with their own brand of hard rock. After two ’70s albums on London Records\, they shortened their name to Y&T and released eight albums on A&M in the ’80s. Two more albums with Geffen Records marked an era of change with Jimmy DeGrasso (Alice Cooper\, Suicidal Tendencies\, Megadeth) on drums and Stef Burns (Alice Cooper\, Berlin\, Huey Lewis) on guitar.
