SUMMARY:Mystic Theatre presents The Third Mind | Fully Seated with Bolero
DESCRIPTION:Featuring Dave Alvin\, Jesse Sykes\, Victor Krummenacher\, Michael Jerome\, and Mark Karan   \n“I had a crazy idea and was looking for musicians who perhaps didn’t think it was so insane”. – Dave Alvin  \nStarting five years ago as a wishful music fantasy\, The Third Mind\, a super group deemed “Californian Psychedelic Rockers” by Doom Charts\, has now become a powerful and thrilling sonic reality.  \nThe brainchild of Grammy award-winning songwriter/guitarist Dave Alvin and veteran  alternative music bassist Victor Krummenacher (Camper Van Beethoven\, Monks of Doom\,  Eyelids)\, The Third Mind began with studio recordings also featuring Jesse Sykes from her critically acclaimed group\, Jesse Sykes and The Sweeter Hereafter\, drummer Michael  Jerome (Richard Thompson\, Better Than Ezra\, John Cale)\, guitarist David  Immerglück (Counting Crows\, Monks of Doom\, Camper Van Beethoven)\, with special guest\, legendary LA musician\, Willie Aron on Keys.   \nLIVE – The Third Mind present their psychedelic improv performances with the addition of guitarist Mark Karan (Bob Weir’s Ratdog\, Phil Lesh\, Delaney Bramlett) subbing for Immerglück.  \nThe Third Mind’s eponymous debut was released in 2020\, featuring extended and psychedelic versions ranging from 8-10 minutes of songs by Alice Coltrane\, the Paul Butterfield Blues Band\, and Roky Erickson’s 13th Floor Elevators. Following its release\, tour plans were thwarted by the pandemic. The group reconvened in 2022 for a second album – The Third Mind 2 – which  shifted from the instrumental focus of their first effort to vocals with Seattle-based Jesse Sykes  at the helm covering songs from the late ‘60s by the Electric Flag\, Fred Neil\, Dillard and Clark  along with an original tune\, “Tall Grass\,” penned by Alvin and Sykes.  \nHailed as a “must-see” performance by the San Francisco Chronicle\, The Third Mind made their live debut performance at the 2023 Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival in San Francisco’s legendary Golden Gate Park\, which CBS News Bay Area proclaimed “a spectacular  performance.” A 10-date West Coast tour followed the festival garnering rave reviews including  Twangville who noted\, “if you want to experience a set of musicians at the top of their game improvising down a psychedelic rabbit hole\, go catch The Third Mind.”

SUMMARY:Sweetwater Music Hall presents Lespecial with Collectivity
DESCRIPTION:lespecial is redefining the term “power trio”. The multi-instrumentalists from Connecticut continue to push the boundaries of what a three-piece band is capable of both live and in the studio ahead of their latest album\, “Odd Times”. The band’s signature blend of “heavy future groove” combines headbanging metal riffage and surgical rhythmic precision with bone shaking 808s\, sub synths and ethereal vocal stylings for a dance floor that welcomes moshing\, dancing and hip swaying alike. Listeners are taken on a journey to the musical netherworld through esoteric soundscapes punctuated by raw\, primal power.

SUMMARY:Cloverdale Performing Arts Center presents Cloverdale Cabaret
DESCRIPTION:This cabaret leans decidedly more adult than our Citrus Fair dinner show—cheekier\, sultrier\, and a little dangerous—while still celebrating the theatricality\, live vocals\, and ensemble magic that define us. It’s a chance to see familiar performers in a new light\, telling stories through big songs\, bold choreography\, and unapologetic flair\, all in the heart of our beloved town.

SUMMARY:JamCellars presents The Expendables with support from Chad Tepper
DESCRIPTION:The Expendables have proven anything but in their nearly 25-year career since starting out as a spirited party band in high school performing surf-rock covers for birthdays and family gatherings. A quarter-century later\, elementary school buddies Raul Bianchi\, Adam Peterson and Geoff Weers\, along with bassist Ryan DeMars\, who joined in 2000\, have forged a unique sound born in the laid-back beach life in their hometown of Santa Cruz\, CA. The Expendables’ infectious hybrid of ska\, surf-rock\, punk\, reggae and metal can be heard in their latest streaming track\, “Surfman Cometh\,” a spaghetti-western meets “Pipeline” twang that could easily form the soundtrack to the latest Quentin Tarantino film. The song is the first release from the group’s new and improved Band Room\, their longtime rehearsal space in a 1\,100 square foot warehouse and former wine cellar on Coral Street\, where Adam Patterson took charge of the final mix to great effect. The band’s previous studio album of original material\, 2015’s Sand in the Sky\, was followed by The Expendables’ second release featuring acoustic reworkings of past material\, Gone Raw\, 2019’s follow-up to 2012’s Gone Soft. The Expendables continue woodshedding until they can get back out on the road. Their 2017 Moment EP\, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Reggae chart\, showed the band starting to move into different musical directions\, a set featuring collaborations with reggae crooner HIRIE\, rapper Tech N9ne\, Eric Rachmany\, and Micah Peuschel.

SUMMARY:Green Music Center presents Rossini & Schubert
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the artistry of two musical giants: Rossini’s sparkling wit and Schubert’s moving melodies. With its theatrical flair and rhythm-driven energy\, Rossini’s William Tell Overture contrasts beautifully with Schubert’s Unfinished Symphony\, which offers a glimpse of his profound creative brilliance and introspective lyricism. Additionally\, the world premiere of Shuying Li’s concerto grosso Coping Cadences ignites the imagination while merging traditional and contemporary elements. \nPhoto credit: Photo by Susan and Neil Silverman Photography

SUMMARY:Sweetwater Music Hall presents Dead Winter Carpenters with Jimbo Scott
DESCRIPTION:Hailing from North Lake Tahoe\, CA\, americana/roots rock band Dead Winter Carpenters has built a reputation for pouring their heart and soul into each performance. Celebrating 15 years on the road in 2025\, the band has worked hard to position themselves\, wrote Portland Metronome\, “at the forefront of a youthful generation trying to redefine what string music is and what it can do.” That progressive nature shines through loud and clear on the band’s latest release “Sinners ‘n’ Freaks.” The 5-song EP is DWC’s fifth studio effort and is a celebration of the hard roads previously traveled and the road that lies ahead. Recorded at Baxter’s Ranch in Auburn\, CA\, the band found a masterful ally with a keen ear and sensibility in studio owner/engineer Matt Baxter. Born of an organic\, roots-based approach\, Sinners ‘n’ Freaks rings true to the Sierra Nevada foothills. \nReminiscent of genre-benders like Jack White\, Chris Thile\, and Sam Bush\, Dead Winter Carpenters harmoniously blend refined musical ability with a scarcely restrained tendency to let it all hang out. The result is a controlled burn\, a riveting sound\, and a connection with fans that sells out shows and has the band sharing stages with the likes of Jason Isbell\, Easton Corbin\, Greensky Bluegrass\, Rising Appalachia\, Railroad Earth\, The Infamous Stringdusters and Hard Working Americans.

SUMMARY:Mystic Theatre presents Wake the Dead
DESCRIPTION:As an expression of cultural joy\, you can’t top an Irish wake. And what is a wake but a celebration — a toast of appreciation — an expression of love — and a damn good party? \nSo when seven top Bay Area musicians realized they shared as deep a love for the songs of the Grateful Dead as they did for traditional Celtic tunes\, some brand-new music sprang up and started partying. \nWAKE THE DEAD is a romp that flows seamlessly from rock grooves to hot Irish reels\, and from haunting airs to achingly beautiful melodies familiar to Deadheads everywhere. “Sugaree” in waltz time\, bracketed by an ancient harp tune and infused with a poignant Celtic longing. “Bertha” thundering out of “China Cat” on a mandolin tidal wave. The eerie lilt of the uilleann pipes\, giving a glow to “Bird Song” as if it was always meant to be there. Groove jams to keep the tie-dye swirling. Vocal harmonies that float like clouds. The music takes off\, and the band follows\, grinning all the way. These aren’t worlds colliding — they’re worlds meshing\, coalescing creating a whole new world of possibility\, and true to the spirits of the Grateful Dead and the eternally hopeful Celts. \nWAKE THE DEAD bands together seven of the best-known and most respected players in the west. Bassist Cindy Browne Rosefield is equally at home in folk and jazz\, touring globally as the musical fusion go-to gal. Singer\, fiddler\, and octave mandolinist Danny Carnahan is an award-winning songwriter whose original Irish-tinged songs are popular worldwide. Kevin Carr is a musical triple-threat\, renowned as a dance fiddler\, a pennywhistler\, and Irish piper par excellence. Sylvia Herold’s delicious vocal phrasing can also be heard on her solo recordings and her performances with Euphonia. Paul Kotapish is known far and wide for his work with Kevin Burke’s Open House\, and for his blazing guitar and mandolin with The Hillbillies From Mars and Euphonia. And Latin percussionist Brian Rice rounds out the band’s groove engine.

SUMMARY:Sweetwater Music Hall presents Victoria George Early Access Album Release Party with David Luning
DESCRIPTION:“I feel like good art is informed by big moments\,” says Northern California singer-songwriter Victoria George. Her new album\, “Wilderness\,” proves the point. Written and recorded in the wake of a life-altering brain cancer diagnosis\, the album is a powerful creative statement from an artist whose sound seamlessly blends country roots and folk storytelling with a hint of pop.\n\nThroughout her career\, George’s voice and songwriting prowess have set her apart from Nashville trends\, even as she shared stages with legends like Willie Nelson\, Brandi Carlile\, and Loudon Wainwright. Her late 2018 release “Victoria George & The High Lonesome” was a rootsy standout\, but when the pandemic hit\, live music everywhere came to a halt and so did George’s momentum.

SUMMARY:JaM Cellars Presents Johnny Marr with special guest His Lordship
DESCRIPTION:Johnny Marr started his career with The Smiths\, beginning an amazing history as one of the most influential songwriters and guitarists in British independent music. His subsequent creative journey has seen him at the heart of The The\, Electronic\, Modest Mouse and The Cribs\, as well as working with such names as The Pretenders\, Talking Heads\, The Avalanches\, and the musician and composer Hans Zimmer – with whom he recorded the score and soundtrack for the most recent James Bond film\, No Time To Die\, including the Oscar-nominated title track created with Billie Eilish. \nSince launching in 2013\, Marr’s solo career has given rise to four UK Top Ten studio albums – The Messenger (2013)\, Playland (2014)\, Call The Comet (2018)\, Fever Dreams Pts 1-4 (2022) and a career-spanning book\, Marr’s Guitars (via Thames & Hudson). \nThe full measure of this extraordinarily fertile creative period is captured on his latest offering\, Spirit Power: The Best Of Johnny Marr\, a major new collection curated by Johnny encompassing songs from his first ten years as a solo artist\, a scattering of stand-alone singles and two incendiary new cuts\, Somewhere and The Answer. It’s a body of work that mirrors Marr’s unquenchable life force\, breadth of musicality\, and above all\, his love of melody.

SUMMARY:Mystic Theatre presents Chancey Williams
DESCRIPTION:Saddle Bronc athlete-turned neo-traditional country music sensation Chancey Williams has gone from competing on horseback to performing on center stage. As one of only two artists (along with Chris LeDoux) to both compete in the rodeo and perform on the main stage at Cheyenne Frontier Days and the only singer/songwriter to be endorsed by CINCH®\, Williams is the next authentic cowboy of country music. The northeastern Wyoming native has toured the nation\, taking the stage ahead of headliners Toby Keith\, Cody Johnson\, Alan Jackson\, Dierks Bentley and Parker McCollum\, performing at a sold-out Ryman Auditorium\, Red Rocks Amphitheatre\, as well as headlining at The National Finals Rodeo and multiple performances at the Grand Ole’ Opry. \n“For us\, it’s been a long journey of playing against what was popular in country music\, but we just stayed the course\,” Williams told People Magazine of staying true to his roots. “I always tell the band\, don’t worry about whatever any other artist is doing. We have blinders on.” \nRepresenting the western lifestyle and cowboy mentality in its truest form\, The Cheyenne Frontier Days Hall of Fame inductee’s sound and subject matter has found its time in Nashville’s country scene\, as demonstrated on his latest release\, seventh studio album Miles On Me. The project includes several previously released singles\, including 2025 stand-outs “Pearl Snap Preacher\,” “The Ballad of Uncle Don” (an autobiographical tune about his actual Uncle Don)\, and the title track\, as well as three new tunes\, including focus track “Past the Point of Rescue.” \nSaving Country Music wrote\, “If we could wave a magic wand and instantly remake mainstream country music into something much better than what it is today\, Chancey Williams…would not be a bad wish at all.” \n“The time has finally come for Chancey Williams\,” declared People Magazine. “Cowboys are cool again!”

SUMMARY:Mystic Theatre presents Vanessa Collier
DESCRIPTION:Singer/songwriter Vanessa Collier’s sixth album Do It My Own Way was recorded on analog gear with the musicians largely in one room. Do It My Own Way is sonically inspired by the classic Memphis soul sound of Stax and Hi Records\, especially that of the Staples Singers. Second single “Wild As a Rainstorm\,” which dives deep into soul territory\, powerfully gives advice to women and people who feel left out to ignore the naysayers and “Be a tapestry of dreams.” The track been added to Spotify’s official Retro Soul playlist. The groove and horns would make Willie Mitchell proud\, and indeed features legendary Hi Records organist Rev. Charles Hodges. The vocals are powerful\, awe-inspiring\, and undeniably soulful vocals.  \nTalking about the album\, Collier adds\, “It’s a warmer and darker sounding a record\, recorded intentionally to reflect a throwback to older school soul\, R&B\, blues\, and to the days of great songs and songwriters\, tube amps and analog gear.”  \nDo It My Own Way takes listeners back to the heyday of music with Memphis soul-influenced horn arrangements\, layers of vocals for color\, with poignant and powerful saxophone solos that deliver a quietly powerful undercurrent to each song and the album as a whole. Minor key Americana/noir “Take Me Back” served as the first single. The album kicks off with the funk workout “Elbow Grease.” On an album full of incredible grooves\, “Shoulda Known Better” stands out while “Just One More” sways toa rhumba beat.  \nThe gospel-tinged “Rosetta” pays tribute to one of Collier’s heroes\, electric guitar pioneer Sister Rosetta Tharpe. Collier sings\, “She’s carried the torch so I can see a little bit better… There’d be no Elvis or Chuck Berry. Sometimes the women do it best. She tackled all the inequities. And fought with strength and audacity.”

SUMMARY:The California Theatre presents Spike Sikes and His Awesome Hotcakes
DESCRIPTION:Spike Sikes\, Awesome Hotcakes\, and a whole lot of music! With the perfect recipe of soul\, swing\, R&B\, jazz\, it’s going to be cooking down at The Cal! \nJust The Right Recipe… The most frequently heard comment after a Spike’s Awesome Hotcakes gig goes something like this – \n“No one is making this kind of music anymore!” \nBut what\, exactly\, is “this kind of music?” \nLike hotcakes themselves\, it goes by many names. Soul. Swing. Rhythm & Blues. Jazz. Jump. It’s a sound that’s classic and simple\, but when it’s done right\, it hits the spot\, and has you grinning from ear to ear. Spike has spent years searching for this sound. \nFrom the Texas blues joints he cut his teeth in to the funky halls of New Orleans\, he was always studying the music\, trying to find just the right recipe. It makes perfect sense that he found his bandmates in Sonoma County\, a music scene that has fostered many eclectic artists for decades. \nWhat he didn’t know was how hungry audiences were for “this kind of…

SUMMARY:Sweetwater Music Hall presents David Nelson Band
DESCRIPTION:The David Nelson Band has been recording and performing around the country since 1994. Their broad musical palette spans the Almost Acoustic style that Nelson played with Jerry Garcia\, through roots rock n roll\, and psychedelic country-rock. The DNB perform David’s compositions (many co-written with Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter)\, select covers\, and several Grateful Dead classics upon which Nelson appeared on the original album releases. These stylistic elements\, combined with plenty of spontaneous free form improvisation\, create a sound that is uniquely David Nelson Band. Though the original songs are mostly written by Nelson\, the development of all the material is a fully collaborative effort. These days the DNB only tour select areas a few times a year\, as the individual band members are in high demand with other successful touring acts. Their loyal and enthusiastic fans relish these special times to reunite at Nelson family gatherings. DNB shows are a joyous reunion for all – a communal gathering where regulars and newcomers all feel part of an extended family. \n\nDavid Nelson – guitar/ vocals – is a founding member of the New Riders of the Purple Sage and long time musical partner of Jerry Garcias dating back to 1962 in the pre-Grateful Dead bluegrass band\, The Wildwood Boys. Nelson was also a member of the Jerry Garcia Acoustic Band (and appears on their 1988 album release “Almost Acoustic” and 2010’s “Ragged But Right”) and performed on three Grateful Dead albums – “Aoxomoxoa”\, “Workingmans Dead” & “American Beauty” – playing the iconic electric guitar solo on Box of Rain. Nelson has also performed as a member of Phil Lesh and Friends.\n\nBarry Sless – lead guitar/ pedal steel – currently tours with Bobby Weir and Wolf Bros\, Skeleton Crewe and Moonalice. He was a frequent member of Phil Lesh and Friends touring and local lineups since 2004. He’s toured with Chris Robinsons Green Leaf Rustlers (and appears on their 2020 album release\, From Within Marin)\, Kingfish\, Cowboy Jazz\, and Great American Taxi. Barry is a founding member of DNB.
