Founded in 1974 by the late singer-songwriter/guitarist Mimi Fariña\, Bread & Roses has consistently and reliably provided free live music and the performing arts to our San Francisco Bay Area neighbors most in need for over 50 years. \nOur Event:  \nThe Bread & Roses 2026 Spring Benefit Concert to celebrate our mission of bringing free live music to isolated audiences in a wide range of institutional settings in the San Francisco Bay Area.  \nThe event will feature performances by Ron Artis II and Rainbow Girls. Doors open at 5:30pm and show starts at 7:00pm. \nAll guests are invited to our welcome reception (5:30pm – 7:00pm) with light bites\, beer & wine. The event will also feature a live auction with music and sports packages. DESCRIPTION:Bachgrounder lecture 35 minutes before each performance \nFinally\, as previously mentioned\, we’ll step across a line we’ve rarely crossed: Circa 1600 will go spelunking through the 20th century and into the 21st. We’ll touch upon the rich chanson repertoire of the great impressionist composers Debussy and Ravel; we’ll explore Paul Hindemith’s grim madrigals and touching chansons; we’ll do a deep dive into Benjamin Britten\, including his great Rejoice in the Lamb\, with organ accompaniment and with lyrics by the eccentric Christopher Smart. Samuel Barber will make an appearance\, as well as a number of living composers. And—wait for it!— a bit of jazz just might be heard as we usher out our season in style!

DESCRIPTION:Gin Blossoms is an American alternative rock band formed in 1987 in Tempe\, Arizona. The band rose to prominence following the 1992 release of their first major label debut album\, New Miserable Experience\, and the first single released from that album\, “Hey Jealousy” became a Top 25 hit and went gold. New Miserable Experience eventually went quadruple platinum\, and three other charting singles were released from the album including “Allison Road” and “Until I Fall Away”. The band’s follow-up album\, Congratulations I’m Sorry (1996)\, went platinum including the Grammy nominated “As Long as It Matters” and the top 10 single “Follow You Down”. \nNearly 4 decades ago ago\, the four original members of Blues Traveler gathered in their drummer’s parents’ basement in Princeton\, NJ to jam. They would go on to release a total of 14 studio albums\, four of which have gone gold\, three platinum\, and one six-times platinum- selling more than 10 million combined units worldwide. Over an illustrious career\, Blues Traveler has played over 2\,000 live shows in front of more than 30 million people\, and\, in “Run-Around\,” had the longest-charting radio single in Billboard history\, which earned them a Grammy® for “Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.” \nSpin Doctors’ first album in 12 years is at once a bold leap for a legendary band and the sound of a group truly revitalized.
