SUMMARY:Coyote Sonoma presents Shana Morrison & Caledonia
DESCRIPTION:Shana Morrison’s musical style has been called pop with a side of blues and a side of rock. She is also known to include other ingredients\, like country\, R&B and jazz into the mix. Her material seems to be ever-changing and hard to pin down categorically\, but what always remains the same is Shana’s unique and wide-ranging voice.\n\nThe daughter of legendary Northern Irish musician Van Morrison\, Shana Morrison began performing with her group Caledonia in the San Francisco Bay area in 1996\, releasing their debut CD on her own label\, Belfast Violet Records. Since 2002\, Shana has toured internationally\, including numerous concert dates with her father. She has shared billing with the likes of Bonnie Raitt\, John Lee Hooker\, and Dr. John\, and has played for a variety of festival audiences\, including the San Francisco Blues Festival and the Cork Jazz Festival. Her set list always includes some of Van Morrison’s greatest hits.\n\nCaledonia is one of those indefinable bands. Variously described as alt-country and new wave\, the group continues to fly its own hybrid tapestry freak flag.

SUMMARY:Sweetwater presents Southern Culture on the Skids
DESCRIPTION:Southern Culture On The Skids has been consistently recording and touring around the world since 1983. The band (Rick Miller – guitar and vocals\, Mary Huff – bass and vocals\, Dave Hartman – drums) has been playing together for over 30 years. Their musical journey has taken them from all-night North Carolina house parties to late night TV talk shows (Conan O’Brien\, The Tonight Show)\, from performing at the base of Mt. Fuji in Japan to rockin’ out for the inmates at North Carolina correctional facilities. They’ve shared a stage with many musical luminaries including Link Wray\, Loretta Lynn\, Hasil Adkins and Patti Smith. Their music has been featured in movies and TV\, parodied by Weird Al\, and used to sell everything from diamonds to pork sausage. In 2014 the band was honored by the Southern Folklife Collection at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill with an exhibition featuring their music and cultural contributions. Their legendary live shows are a testament to the therapeutic powers of foot-stomping\, butt-shaking rock and roll and what Rolling Stone dubbed “a hell raising rock and roll party.” \nThis Chapel Hill-based trio is flat-out amazing. Without resorting to needless flash or attention-hungry showboating\, Miller in particular is one of the most spectacularly gifted guitar players I’ve ever seen. He juggles a lot of styles – country\, garage rock\, surf\, rockabilly and soul to name just a few. – Stomp & Stammer

SUMMARY:Occidental Center for the Arts presents Electric Tumbleweed
DESCRIPTION:Electric Tumbleweed is a psychedelic outlaw country group based in Sonoma County\, California. Founded in 2019 by members rooted in bluegrass\, country\, and psychedelic rock\, the music is a hard driving mixture of twangy guitar and psychedelic noise\, held together by a steady rhythm section with the cry of pedal steel layered in between it all. Electric Tumbleweed has maintained steady momentum in the Northern California music scene; backing David Nelson (New Riders of the Purple Sage) on multiple occasions; most notably at the Mystic Theater with guest Mark Karan (Ratdog) for a sold out performance. Electric Tumbleweed performed regularly at Phil Lesh’s Terrapin Crossroads as a solo group as well as with Scott Law\, Barry Sless (Phil Lesh and Friends) and Dave Zirbel (Sammy Hagar Band) are regular pedal steel players in the group. The band has been invited to play multiple festivals and events including The String Cheese Incident’s Hog Farm Hideaway\, Ain’t Necessarily Dead Fest (backing David Nelson). We aim to keep our goals high\, and to perform high quality music; focusing on writing and arranging new songs\, and booking future tour dates. We are excited to release our debut full-length album in October 2021\, which features Sam Bush (New Grass Revival)\, Barry Sless (Phil Lesh & Friends)\, and Lester and Dylan Chambers (The Chambers Brothers). The album features the artwork of Stanley Mouse/Jennae Bennett and was engineered and mastered by Grammy winning Oz Fritz (Tom Waits).
