SUMMARY:Sweetwater Music Hall presents Rachel Sumner & Traveling Light with Misner & Smith
DESCRIPTION:Rachel Sumner & Traveling Light are a Boston-based string band making music that blends folk tradition with feminist storytelling\, poetic detail\, and just enough grit. At the center is Sumner’s songwriting—rooted in history\, myth\, and personal reckoning—carried by close harmonies\, upright bass\, acoustic guitar\, and fiddle. The trio features Kat Wallace on fiddle and vocals and Mike Siegel on upright bass and vocals\, whose playing brings both tension and tenderness to the sound.\n\nTheir sound is spare and intimate\, sometimes eerie\, sometimes sweet\, always intentional. They call it Femericana—sharp-edged Americana with a splash of feminine rage.\n\nSumner has performed at the Library of Congress\, where five of her original songs are now archived\, and was a 2024 winner of the Kerrville New Folk competition. Her song “Radium Girls (Curie Eleison)” struck a nerve—streamed over 300\,000 times and picked up by dancers\, theater directors\, and deep listeners who saw themselves in its story. It’s been tattooed on arms\, sung in audition rooms\, and carried into classrooms and protests. The kind of song people hold onto.

SUMMARY:The California Theatre presents SonoMusette: The Music of 20th Century Paris
DESCRIPTION:Be transported back in time by the sounds of the Paris café music scene of the 1900s! \nLed by Parisian singer Mimi Pirard\, SonoMusette authentically recreates the evocative sounds of the Paris café music scene of the 1900s. The songs of Edith Piaf\, Jacques Brel\, Charles Aznavour\, Barbara\, and other iconic performers of 20th Century Paris. Be transported back in time by the sounds of musette accordion\, piano\, guitar\, bass\, drum set\, and stunning vocals. All songs performed in the original French language. This music has retained its power to charm and transport listeners\, and SonoMusette taps that nostalgia with artistry in both vocals and instrumentation.

SUMMARY:JamCellars presents Silversun Pickups – Tenterhooks Tour with special guest Pure Hex
DESCRIPTION:Silversun Pickups’ sixth album Physical Thrills came together as a serendipitous accident during a dark time. The LA band began 2020 by touring in support of their record released the previous year\, Widow’s Weeds. But the pandemic halted those plans\, with the members including guitarist and singer Brian Aubert\, bassist Nikki Monninger\, drummer Christopher Guanlao\, and keyboardist Joe Lester\, finding themselves stuck at home. In that resting period\, Aubert wasn’t focused on Silversun Pickups; instead\, he channeled his energy into taking care of his son\, Nico\, while his wife Tracy worked. \nBut as much as his focus initially shifted from the band\, he couldn’t escape the new melodies germinating in his head. “I would sneak off and start writing these songs\, and I didn’t know what they’re for because I didn’t really think about Silversun on any level. I was just doing it to keep myself calm and keep myself company\,” says Aubert. The songs were so different from what he’d previously written for Silversun Pickups that he initially thought he was writing a musical. There were “dream shanties\,” gentler vocals\, horror-inspired sounds\, and other exciting new elements coming to mind.

SUMMARY:Mystic Theatre presents The White Buffalo
DESCRIPTION:For The White Buffalo – aka singer songwriter guitarist Jake Smith\, Oregon-born\, Southern California-raised – it was time to take the less travelled path; to assemble notions for studio album Number 8\, the follow-up to ‘On The Widow’s Walk’ (Snakefarm\, 2020)\, and embark on a voyage of discovery. Out with the old\, the organic\, the expected\, the tried; in with the new – new producer\, new studio\, new location\, no distractions\, no looking back. \n“You think we’re a country band? A folk band? Americana? Rock? What the fuck are you gonna say now?!” laughs Jake. “With this album\, I wanted something outside of what I’ve ever done. I wanted to open up. Do something dangerous. I’m hard to put into a singular genre as it is\, but now I really wanted to take away any kind of preconception or pigeon-holing.” \nWith an impressive clientele numbering Eric Church\, Brothers Osborne\, Fidlar\, Ashley McBryde\, Halestorm\, Little Big Town\, Cage the Elephant\, to name just a few\, multi-instrumentalist Joyce has a reputation for working at an intense level. \nHe’s a Grammy Award-winning Producer of the Year (2018)\, has 4 CMA and 5 ACM Awards\, and when it comes to making music\, the Ohio native is never one to take the obvious route – perfect for an album featuring a dozen musical vignettes\, individual yet constant in flow; an album loosely based around the shifting of the seasons and the shifting of a relationship; an album showing off the complete scope of Jake’s song-writing craft\, from the stripped back to the fully loaded. \n

SUMMARY:JamCellars presents George Thorogood and The Destroyers “The Baddest Show On Earth”
DESCRIPTION:During 2025’s The Baddest Show on Earth Tour\, they played nearly 90 explosive shows\, were honored by The Recording Academy’s GRAMMY Museum\, saw George’s famed Gibson ES-125TDC ‘Bad To The Bone’ guitar placed on permanent exhibit at The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame\, performed at halftime for the Las Vegas Raiders\, were inducted into The Musicians Hall of Fame\, delivered the top-rated PBS Special Recorded Live At Analog\, and more. \nBut now it’s 2026. What could George Thorogood & The Destroyers possibly do for an encore? \n“Encore?” bellows George with a good-natured laugh. “We’re just getting started!” \nFor an artist whose music honors the blues\, rock and country legends of the past\, Thorogood’s forward momentum is now stronger than ever. And along with longtime Destroyers Jeff Simon (drums)\, Bill Blough (bass)\, Jim Suhler (guitar) and Buddy Leach (saxophone)\, they continue “to slap a custom flame paint job onto those classic sounds” (Blues Blast Magazine) like never before. “There’s never been a master plan\,” George says. “We’ll always be focused on playing music that makes all kinds of people happy. Because when the house lights go down\, the downbeat hits and the audience erupts\, there is no greater feeling in the world.”

SUMMARY:Sweetwater Music Hall presents Meels with Give Me A Dollar
DESCRIPTION:Singer-songwriter Meels grew up among the redwoods of Northern California\, where music was as constant as the ocean air. Born Amelia Einhorn and raised in Mill Valley\, she was steeped in the sounds of John Denver\, Iris DeMent\, The Beatles\, and Peter\, Paul and Mary. After studying Recorded Music at NYU’s Clive Davis Institute\, she began shaping a sound all her own—one that blends folk\, country\, and bluegrass into what she calls “Critter Country.”\n\nHer debut EP\, Tales from a Bird’s Bedroom (2024)\, introduced her as a striking new voice in indie folk\, praised by Earmilk for its “rich sonics\, evocative storytelling\, and expressive vocal lines.” Since returning to the West Coast\, Meels has shared stages with Old Crow Medicine Show\, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band\, Molly Tuttle\, and Kaitlin Butts.

SUMMARY:Mystic Theatre presents The Garcia Project
DESCRIPTION:THE GARCIA PROJECT \nwith Jacklyn LaBranch (of The Jerry Garcia Band 82–95) \nThe Garcia Project performs full\, unaltered classic Jerry Garcia Band setlists from 1976–1995 — song for song\, set for set — using era-correct arrangements\, tempos\, instrumentation\, and gear to recreate the authentic sound that defined those legendary shows. \nSince 2010\, The Garcia Project is more than a tribute\, the band delivers the emotional and communal experience that made the classic Jerry Garcia Band so beloved. A recent Grateful Web feature described their performances as “a night of healing\, heart\, and pure Jerry magic\,” noting that The Garcia Project opens “a little doorway back to the Jerry Garcia Band years\,” with the same warmth\, looseness\, and deep musical breath that defined the original concerts. \nOver the years\, fans have affectionately dubbed The Garcia Project the ‘DSO of JGB’ — not as a comparison to any other band\, but to express the level of precision\, intention\, and respect they bring to recreating classic shows. \nTheir authenticity has earned praise from the musicians who lived it

SUMMARY:Mystic Theatre presents The Third Mind | Fully Seated with Bolero
DESCRIPTION:Featuring Dave Alvin\, Jesse Sykes\, Victor Krummenacher\, Michael Jerome\, and Mark Karan   \n“I had a crazy idea and was looking for musicians who perhaps didn’t think it was so insane”. – Dave Alvin  \nStarting five years ago as a wishful music fantasy\, The Third Mind\, a super group deemed “Californian Psychedelic Rockers” by Doom Charts\, has now become a powerful and thrilling sonic reality.  \nThe brainchild of Grammy award-winning songwriter/guitarist Dave Alvin and veteran  alternative music bassist Victor Krummenacher (Camper Van Beethoven\, Monks of Doom\,  Eyelids)\, The Third Mind began with studio recordings also featuring Jesse Sykes from her critically acclaimed group\, Jesse Sykes and The Sweeter Hereafter\, drummer Michael  Jerome (Richard Thompson\, Better Than Ezra\, John Cale)\, guitarist David  Immerglück (Counting Crows\, Monks of Doom\, Camper Van Beethoven)\, with special guest\, legendary LA musician\, Willie Aron on Keys.   \nLIVE – The Third Mind present their psychedelic improv performances with the addition of guitarist Mark Karan (Bob Weir’s Ratdog\, Phil Lesh\, Delaney Bramlett) subbing for Immerglück.  \nThe Third Mind’s eponymous debut was released in 2020\, featuring extended and psychedelic versions ranging from 8-10 minutes of songs by Alice Coltrane\, the Paul Butterfield Blues Band\, and Roky Erickson’s 13th Floor Elevators. Following its release\, tour plans were thwarted by the pandemic. The group reconvened in 2022 for a second album – The Third Mind 2 – which  shifted from the instrumental focus of their first effort to vocals with Seattle-based Jesse Sykes  at the helm covering songs from the late ‘60s by the Electric Flag\, Fred Neil\, Dillard and Clark  along with an original tune\, “Tall Grass\,” penned by Alvin and Sykes.  \nHailed as a “must-see” performance by the San Francisco Chronicle\, The Third Mind made their live debut performance at the 2023 Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival in San Francisco’s legendary Golden Gate Park\, which CBS News Bay Area proclaimed “a spectacular  performance.” A 10-date West Coast tour followed the festival garnering rave reviews including  Twangville who noted\, “if you want to experience a set of musicians at the top of their game improvising down a psychedelic rabbit hole\, go catch The Third Mind.”

A quarter-century later\, elementary school buddies Raul Bianchi\, Adam Peterson and Geoff Weers\, along with bassist Ryan DeMars\, who joined in 2000\, have forged a unique sound born in the laid-back beach life in their hometown of Santa Cruz\, CA. The Expendables’ infectious hybrid of ska\, surf-rock\, punk\, reggae and metal can be heard in their latest streaming track\, “Surfman Cometh\,” a spaghetti-western meets “Pipeline” twang that could easily form the soundtrack to the latest Quentin Tarantino film. The song is the first release from the group’s new and improved Band Room\, their longtime rehearsal space in a 1\,100 square foot warehouse and former wine cellar on Coral Street\, where Adam Patterson took charge of the final mix to great effect. The band’s previous studio album of original material\, 2015’s Sand in the Sky\, was followed by The Expendables’ second release featuring acoustic reworkings of past material\, Gone Raw\, 2019’s follow-up to 2012’s Gone Soft. The Expendables continue woodshedding until they can get back out on the road. Their 2017 Moment EP\, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Reggae chart\, showed the band starting to move into different musical directions\, a set featuring collaborations with reggae crooner HIRIE\, rapper Tech N9ne\, Eric Rachmany\, and Micah Peuschel.
