SUMMARY:Raven Performing Arts Theater presents Much Ado About Nothing
DESCRIPTION:It’s Shakespeare in the Piazza at Bacchus Landing! \nWhile Claudio and Hero fall in love and get engaged\, the villainous Don John tricks Claudio into believing Hero is unfaithful\, leading him to publicly humiliate her at the altar. Meanwhile\, their friends conspire to make the sparring Beatrice and Benedick fall in love\, and they eventually confess their feelings for each other. The play’s climax\, in pure Shakespearean form\, involves a faked death\, a confession of Don John’s plot\, and a happy ending with a double wedding – of course! \nBacchus Landing’s wood-fired pizza will be available for purchase\, and wine by the glass or bottle will also be available for purchase from selected wineries each evening (see the schedule\, below). Sorry\, no outside food or drink allowed except for water bottles. Remember\, Sonoma County evenings get chilly even in the summer. We advise you to bring a sweater\, jacket\, or hoodie in case you need to bundle up after sunset! \nDoors open at 6:30 pm. Come early to enjoy Bacchus Landing wood-fired pizza and select wines! Free parking is available and the premises are wheelchair accessible.

DESCRIPTION:Who Will Dance with Pancho Villa? played to sold-out audiences in January. First performed off-Broadway in 1994\, the playwrights updated the story with the introduction of the Ballet Folklórico Legado de Mi Alegría de Cloverdale Ca while developing the play further through the Raven Players’ ScripTease program. It is the story of a young Chicano from Chicago\, lured to the East Coast by an Ivy League scholarship. As he tries to make a life there\, he neglects family relationships and deep cultural roots established throughout generations. It takes his mother’s nearly fatal heart attack\, help from a Jewish therapist\, and the visitation of the spirits of his long dead relatives (and of his historical idol\, Pancho Villa) to help him realize what he’s lost\, and how to get it back. Dancing spirits\, who are intertwined throughout the play\, help remind “Chicano” of the joy in dancing\, especially when dancing is much more than dancing.

Featuring vocals\, acoustic guitar\, and upright bass\, the band delivers an eclectic repertoire spanning timeless classics and contemporary favorites from artists including Fleetwood Mac\, Tom Petty\, Susan Tedeschi\, Brandi Carlile\, Kacey Musgraves\, The Cranberries\, Cyndi Lauper\, Oasis\, The 1975\, Chris Stapleton\, Taylor Swift\, and more. \nFronted by vocalist Leah Van Dyke\, who has been performing professionally since the age of 19\, Brothers of Siren is built on decades of musical experience. Guitarist Jake Richmond and upright bassist Daniel Patchin are equally seasoned musicians; each having performed throughout Sonoma County for more than 20 years in a variety of bands and musical projects.
