Through razor-sharp dialogue and unexpected humor\, Pinter draws audiences into a world where every pause speaks volumes. \nCelebrated for its daring themes and uncompromising vision\, The Homecoming won the Tony Award for Best Play and remains one of the defining works of twentieth-century drama. They based musical (loosely) on the low-budget 1960 black comedy film The Little Shop of Horrors\, with Menken’s score featuring spectacular music: early 1960s-style rock and roll\, doo-wop\, and early Motown. \nThe story centers on meek floral assistant Seymour Krelborn\, who stumbles across a new breed of plant he names “Audrey II” after his coworker crush. This foul-mouthed\, R&B-singing carnivore promises unending fame and fortune to the down-and-out Krelborn as long as he keeps feeding it BLOOD. Over time\, though\, Seymour discovers Audrey II’s out-of-this-world origins and its intent toward global domination!
