Veteran guitarist and long-time Elvin Bishop collaborator Johnny “V” brings his distinctive bluesy slide sound to The Cal.
Johnny “V” has played guitar with Blues greats that include Chicago guitarist Luther Tucker, Sunnyland Slim, Rock & Roll legend Chuck Berry, Steve “Guitar” Miller, Greg Allman, George Thorogood, Charlie Daniels, Commander Cody & the Lost Planet Airmen, and Elvin Bishop. His time with Elvin Bishop’s band led to 6 albums, multiple Gold Records, extensive touring and the monster hit “Fooled Around and Fell in Love.” Together, Johnny and Elvin set a distinctive style that formed part of the Southern Rock Sound and continues to live on today.“Johnny V has been out there “in the trenches” playing great blues for a looooong time and making a lot of people happy!” – Charlie Musselwhite
